The First Official Event of the International Association for Territorial Development(IATD), was Held in Kazan

In May 2025, the first official event of the International Association for Territorial Development
(IATD) was held in Kazan. As part of the 16th International Economic Forum «Russia — Islamic
World: KazanForum», the section «International Experience in Territorial Development: State,
Business and Investment» was organized and held.
As part of this event, participants from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan,
Iran, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and India exchanged best practices in the field of territorial development
and considered prospects for cooperation. The discussion covered key issues of interaction
between the state, business, and investors, as well as mechanisms for implementing joint projects.
«If real estate develops, then the country develops» — Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister of
Russia. In support of these words, the Ministry of Construction of Russia and the Association of
(IATD) initiated this session, where Maria Sinichich, Director of the Department of Integrated
Development of Territories of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, played the role of moderator.
The session focused on specific cases of development of territories, covering a wide range of
issues: from urban planning decisions to investment strategies, from public policy to active
participation of the private sector. The complexity of the tasks requires clear and coordinated
interaction of all interested parties — government, business, and the professional community.
