The XX Russian Venture Forum, one of the largest platforms in the country for discussing the development of technological entrepreneurship and attracting investments, was held in Kazan on April 8-10 at the Kazan Expo IEC. The forum brought together thousands of participants, including representatives of business, development institutions and government authorities. As part of the opening of the forum, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted the importance of international cooperation and emphasized the role of the region as a center of attraction for innovative projects and investments.
One of the most significant events of the business program was the «Global Promotion in International Venture Markets 2026» section, where Vasil Mazitov, the Head of the International Association for Territorial Development IATD, presented his report «Venture Investments: The Experience of the Sultanate of Oman.»
In his speech, he provided a practical analysis of Oman’s investment model, emphasizing the government’s active role in financing innovation, developing sovereign funds, and creating a favorable environment for startups.
Special attention was paid to the mechanisms for attracting foreign investors, including special economic zones, tax preferences, and flexible regulation. The speaker emphasized that the Sultanate of Oman is becoming one of the promising destinations for Russian technology companies to enter the Middle Eastern markets, offering tools for scaling projects and building long-term international partnerships. The Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its role as a key platform for establishing new investment ties and promoting Russian technologies to global markets.
