Vasil Mazitov, Chairman of the International Association for Territorial Development (IATD), held a working meeting with Anastasia Mikhailova, Head of the UN-Habitat Program in the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for collaboration in 2026, including joint experts and communication formats in the areas of sustainable territorial development, urban planning, and international cooperation.
One of the key agreements was the planning of an IATD session as part of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). The Forum, which will be held in Baku, will be one of the largest international United Nations platforms dedicated to urban and territorial development.
The 13th session of the World Urban Forum will bring together representatives of governments, international organizations, businesses, experts, and the academic community to discuss the global challenges of urbanization, sustainable development, and urban transformation.
IATD is planning to participate in WUF13 as an important step in developing the association’s international presence, expanding partnerships, and promoting Russian and Eurasian practices for integrated territorial development at the global level.
